Short answers to our most commonly asked questions.

What is lifestyle medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is the evidence-based practice of promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyle modification. By adopting behaviors such as eating more fruits and vegetables, exercise, stress reduction, improved quality of sleep, tobacco cessation, and maintaining a healthy weight, individuals can expect improvement and, in many cases, the reversal of chronic disease.

What reasons or conditions do you treat?
We work with patients who have chronic disease, medical conditions, or are simply interested in feeling better or living healthier. Conditions include (but are not limited to) diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, autoimmune diseases, inflammation, digestive issues and others. We can also help with smoking cessation and much more.

What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine refers to the use of secure video conferencing technology to deliver patient care remotely. A physician in one location uses the technology to deliver care to a patient at a distant site.

Why does it matter what state I am in during my appointment?

Physicians are licensed by individual states to practice medicine. The law requires patients to be located in the state that the physician is licensed in at the time of the appointment. With telemedicine, just like driving across state lines to visit a physician in a physical location, you do not have to live in the state where you receive treatment, but you must be present in that state during your appointment.

How do I book an appointment?
Please start by reading our guide to How it Works, or call us at (888) 420-7284 and we can help.
How do I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
To cancel or reschedule an appointment please email telehealth@love.life, or call (888) 420-7284 and we’ll be happy to do that for you. Unfortunately, our system does not currently allow you to do that yourself online.
Do you accept insurance?
We currently do not accept insurance. You are welcome to use your Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for your appointment. For patients with private, non-Medicare insurance, the doctor can provide you with a receipt that includes the diagnosis and treatment codes so you can submit it to your insurance company and potentially receive partial reimbursement.
How much does a visit cost?
We are working hard to keep our services as affordable as possible.  See Our Pricing for the current cost of 30-minute and 60-minute appointments, and other programs we may currently be offering.
What can I expect from my first visit and how often will I need to follow-up?
Every appointment with a LOVE.LIFE Telehealth doctor is specific for what that patient needs. The doctors do not have a typical program they put all patients through. Rather, they take the time to understand each patient's history, help them create personal health goals, and then design a plan to reach them. Sometimes that includes improving symptoms, improving markers, reducing medications, or just feeling better.

A follow up appointment schedule is decided between you and your doctor. Your doctor will recommend a schedule based on your condition and needs, and they’ll work with you to make sure it works for you.

Can Love.Life Telehealth physicians schedule labs and prescribe medication if needed?

Yes! Your appointment at Love.Life Telehealth is a real medical appointment with a licensed doctor. Your doctor will order labs and prescribe, and de-prescribe, medications as required based on your medical needs. Labs will be ordered through Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp. You will go to a local Patient Service Center to have your testing done, just as you would from a local physician. Prescription orders will be sent to your local pharmacy for pickup.
